Frontier Center for Organic Materials

The Yamagata University Frontier Center for Organic Materials (FROM) opened in 2016 as a major part of the International Scientific Innovation Center Development Project supported by the Japan Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).

Through the Center of Innovation (COI) program supported by JST and MEXT, Yamagata University conducts various applied research projects from subjects as diverse as innovative materials to device and systems technologies. Part of the research output has been installed in the Smart MIRAI House for the sake of empirical research and demonstration.

Researchers in various fields, such as organic materials, organic electronics devices, printing electronics, 3D printers, biomaterials, and systematization technology, reside in this 7-storey, 9,888-square-meter center. Co-researchers' offices, venture labs, a clean room, a lounge, and a lecture hall have also been set up, and Flask is also located on the 6th floor.
